ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION  \nStrategic speaking and listening are continually developing skills; they therefore need to be regularly assessed so that problem areas can be identified and follow-up exercises developed so as to eliminate problems. All assessment marks contribute to your final mark.  \nIt is compulsory to hand in all assessment tasks and complete all tests. A valid excuse for missing any assessment task or test should be handed in to your lecturer within 3 days of the assessment date. A valid excuse for example includes a valid doctor’s certificate issued on the day of absence. Please take note that the University has official dates for the start and end of each term and that travelling arrangements should be scheduled during the official break period. The final decision about the validity of your excuse rests with your lecturer or the course coordinator. No final grades will be made available to any student via E-mail or SMS (text message).
