They welcomed the CEN’s focus on strengthening climate resilience and improving conditions for growth, aligning with the government’s Economic Recovery and Transformation (BERT) Plan.  \nDirectors supported the need for flexibility and financing to drive growth and development. They highlighted the private sector’s pivotal role in growth and job creation, encouraging continued collaboration between the Bank, IFC and MIGA to explore opportunities, including in private capital mobilization.  \nDirectors underscored the importance of building institutions and capacity and supporting education and skills development, especially in the Barbados and Small Island Developing State context. They highlighted Barbados’s vulnerability to economic shocks and natural disasters, underscoring the need to improve social protection and support climate resilience and disaster preparedness and response.
