The policy, among others, stated that the  \nsecondary school education shall: 1) Equip the students to live productive lives in society; and,  \n2) Get the students ready for tertiary institutions. Based on the objectives, it is observed that the  \nsecondary school is a link between the primary school and the tertiary institution. Secondary  \nschools are saddled with the responsibility of preparing students for tertiary institutions, and it  \ncan be said that the level of maturity of students in secondary school and the level at which  \nstudents are prepared for tertiary institutions can determine their level of success and survival in  \ntertiary institutions. It can also be said that the skills, knowledge, and coping strategies that  \nstudents need in tertiary institutions are expected to be acquired in secondary school.
