Early detection of ovarian cancer has significant diagnostic value. In response to the problem of poor diagnostic performance of traditional early diagnosis methods, this article designed an automated early ovarian cancer detection system to improve the detection of early ovarian cancer. The conventional early diagnosis methods include serum CA125 (carbohydrate antigen 125) detection and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging. This article combined serum CA125 detection and PET/CT imaging to detect theCA125 level and maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) in patient’s serum. When theCA125 level exceeded 35U/ml and the maximum SUV value exceeded 2.5, the test was considered positive. This article selected 200 patients from Jingzhou Hospital for the experiment and compared the three detection methods. The average specificity of single serum CA125 detection, single PET/CT imaging, and automated detection in patients under \n50 were 61.24%, 79.57%, and 97.79%, respectively. The automated early ovarian cancer detection system designed in this article can significantly improve the specificity of early ovarian cancer detection and has excellent application value for early ovarian cancer detection. \nKeywords Early ovarian cancer, Automatic detection, Bioimaging informatics, Serum CA125 \nThe treatment effect of ovarian cancer in clinical practice is poor, mainly because patients are often diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the middle and late stages when the cancer cells in the patient’s body have already spread widely. To improve the clinical treatment effect of ovarian cancer, it is necessary to detect ovarian cancer as soon as possible and receive timely treatment. However, early ovarian cancer has no obvious symptoms and there is no effective detection method for early ovarian cancer. According to statistics, the case fatality rate of female patients with ovarian cancer in the United States in 2016 was as high as 63.9%. Many patients died because of the low recognition rate of early ovarian cancer. At present, the main diagnostic methods for ovarian cancer are serum testing and B-ultrasound examination. B-ultrasound, or ultrasound examination, is a medical imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to reflect through human tissues. B-ultrasound can detect and evaluate the condition of internal organs, soft tissues, blood vessels, and fetuses, and has the advantages of noninvasive, real-time, and dynamic observation. Although positive patients with ovarian cancer can be detected to a certain extent, the sensitivity and specificity of early diagnosis are not high. Serum CA125 detection is the main early detection method, which achieves early ovarian cancer detection by measuring CA125 levels. With the development of bioinformatics technology, analyzing medical images enables the diagnosis of various diseases. PET/CT integrates functional and anatomical images. This article integrates PET/CT with serum CA125 detection to achieve automated early ovarian cancer detection and improve the early diagnostic efficiency of ovarian cancer patients. \nOvarian cancer poses great harm to women, and once cancer cells metastasize, it can seriously affect the patient. Early detection of ovarian cancer has important clinical value. Elias’s (2018) study achieved a two-stage strategy of triggering transvaginal ultrasound to detect malignant pelvic masses by increasing serum CA125 levels1. Through serum testing, early ovarian cancer detection can be achieved, reducing the mortality rate of ovarian cancer patients. Bast et al. (2020) pointed out that early detection of ovarian cancer remains an important unmet medical","cbCain5vnRjE7YE1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCain5vnRjE7YE1","pdf",1602309,"English","# Background and clinical need\n# Conventional diagnostic approaches\n# Proposed automated system and criteria\n# Experiment design and comparative results\n# Related prior studies and rationale\n# Imaging and bioimaging basis","[{\"question\":\"Why is early ovarian cancer detection important?\",\"answer\":\"Early ovarian cancer often lacks obvious symptoms, yet later-stage diagnosis is linked to widespread spread and poor treatment outcomes, making timely detection essential.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the automated system define a positive case?\",\"answer\":\"A test is considered positive when the serum CA125 level exceeds 35 U/ml and the maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) from PET/CT exceeds 2.5.\"},{\"question\":\"What did the comparison of detection methods show?\",\"answer\":\"Compared with single serum CA125 testing and single PET/CT imaging, the automated approach produced higher specificity, with results reported as 61.24%, 79.57%, and 97.79% respectively for patients under 50.\"}]","Automated early ovarian cancer detection system based on bioinformatics | PDF",1790034720,25]
