the application of consistent instructional technologies within the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) classroom environment to meet the goals established within the 2018-2023 LACCD District Strategic Plan: \nGoal 1: Access to Educational Opportunities \nGoal 2: Premier Learning Environments \nGoal 3: Student Success and Equity \nGoal 4: Organizational Effectiveness \nGoal 5: Fiscal Integrity \nThe purpose of the Audio Visual (AV) Classroom Standards are to provide minimum performance criteria for instructional technologies and audiovisual systems that will meet the needs of institutional learning, support various teaching methods and styles, enhance District/College communications, improve operational systems, meet accessibility (ADA) compliance requirements, and meet fire/life/safety compliance requirements. \nThis standard provides a minimum baseline level of audio/visual capabilities along with guidelines for use in architectural programming, design, construction, renovation, and upgrades of classrooms throughout the entire District. \nFlexibility and Evolving Classroom Technologies \nLACCD Stakeholders identified that classroom technologies will play a major factor in how education in the future differs from education today. It was identified that the standards shall be: \n􀁸 Flexible-to support a variety of instructional pedagogy \n􀁸 Expandable-to support future classroom technologies such as wireless presentation, augmented & virtual reality, and holography \n􀁸 Scalable-to support additional media inputs and outputs for future needs \nAs such, to supplement the existing Audiovisual system capabilities, the standards include infrastructure that enables the District to easily adopt future classroom technologies as identified above. \nAcknowledgments \nDistrict Academic Senate \nTechnology Policy and Planning Committee District Technology Committee \nFacilities Planning Subcommittee \nBuildLACCD \nRELEVANT STANDARDS \nLACCD Standards \nThe AV Classroom Standards shall be compliant* with the following related standard(s): \n􀁸 LACCD Design Standards \n[http](https://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-standards)[s](https://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-standards)[://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-st](https://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-standards)[andards](https://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-standards)[ ](https://www.build-laccd.org/resources/design-standards)[Note: In the event of a conflict](Note: In the event of a conflict), the District standards shall apply. \nCommunications Standards \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-568-C.0, Generic Telecommunications Cabling for Customer Premises \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-568-C. 1, Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-568-C.2, Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunication Cabling and Components Standard \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-568-C.3, Optical Fiber Cabling Components Standard \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-568-C.4, Broadband Coaxial Cabling and Components Standard \n􀁸 ANSI/TIA-569-C, Telecommunications Pathways and S","cbCaiay18tmJ4eNl","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiay18tmJ4eNl","pdf",6382895,143,"English","# Introduction\n## Goal & Intent of Document\n## Flexibility and Evolving Classroom Technologies\n## Acknowledgments\n# Relevant Standards\n# Room Style Configurations\n# Room Layout Diagrams\n# Architectural Design Requirements\n# Disabled Access Compliance and Accomodations\n# System Design Requirements\n# Display Size Requirements\n# Software\n# Technology & Networking\n# Commisioning & Support\n# Warranty and Maintenance Support\n# Appendix A – Sample User Interface Layouts\n# Appendix B – Manufacturer & Equipment Standards\n# Appendix C – Simplified Audiovisual Standards","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the LACCD Audio Visual (AV) Classroom Standards?\",\"answer\":\"To provide minimum performance criteria for instructional technologies and audiovisual systems that support institutional learning needs, teaching methods, district/college communications, operational improvements, accessibility (ADA) compliance, and fire/life/safety compliance.\"},{\"question\":\"How are the standards intended to support evolving classroom technologies?\",\"answer\":\"The document specifies that classroom technologies should be flexible, expandable for future capabilities such as wireless presentation and immersive tech, and scalable for additional media inputs and outputs, supported by infrastructure additions.\"},{\"question\":\"Which types of standards and compliance requirements does the document reference?\",\"answer\":\"It requires compliance with related LACCD design standards and includes communications, industry, building, federal, and audiovisual standards such as ADA and AVIXA/INFOCOMM performance and audiovisual guidelines.\"}]","AUDIOVISUAL STANDARDS & DESIGN GUIDELINES - LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT - VERSION 1.3 - April 22, 2025 | PDF",1792793130,360]
