and given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide. \nThis test measures your knowledge in ten different areas: \n• General Science \n• Arithmetic Reasoning \n• Word Knowledge \n• Paragraph Comprehension \n• Numerical Operations \n• Coding Speed \n• Auto and Shop Information \n• Mathematics Knowledge \n• Mechanical Comprehension \n• Electronics Information \nThese areas help identify which MOS (military occupational specialties) are best for you. \nThe ASVAB gives you 3 hours to complete it and consists often short tests that cover general science, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, numerical operations, coding speed, auto and shop information, mathematics knowledge, mechanical comprehension and electronics information. \nFour of those tests,(Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, and Arithmetic Reasoning) makeup the AFQT, which tell you if you qualify tobe in the military based on your score. \nDepending on how well you do in each of the 10 tests, certain MOSs will be matched to your strengths. \nMinimum scores on the ASVAB for each branch (AFQT): \n\n| Branch | High School | GED |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Air Force | 31 | 50 |\n| Army | 31 | 50 |\n| Coast Guard | 36 | 47 |\n| Marine Corps | 32 | 50 |\n| National Guard | 31 | 50 |\n| Navy | 35 | 50 |\n\nASVAB Tips: \nA good way to get ASVAB experience is to take the PICAT (Pending Internet Computerized Adaptive Test) . The PICAT is a version of the ASVAB that ’s not proctored and can be taken on your own time. In order to take this test, you will need to contact your local recruiter and your recruiter will give you an access code in order to take the test. Once you complete the test, ask your recruiter for your score. You will then have to take a verification test in MEPS (Military Ent","cbCaipyElkE5yzsN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaipyElkE5yzsN","pdf",339301,"English","# ASVAB Overview\n## What the ASVAB Measures\n## How Scores Affect MOS Placement\n## AFQT Qualification\n## Minimum Scores by Branch\n# ASVAB Study Tips\n## PICAT Experience\n## MEPS Verification Test","[{\"question\":\"What is the ASVAB and who administers it?\",\"answer\":\"The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is developed by the Department of Defense and given at schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS).\"},{\"question\":\"Which subject areas does the ASVAB test?\",\"answer\":\"It measures ten areas: General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Numerical Operations, Coding Speed, Auto and Shop Information, Mathematics Knowledge, Mechanical Comprehension, and Electronics Information.\"},{\"question\":\"How do ASVAB scores determine eligibility and placement?\",\"answer\":\"Four tests—Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, and Arithmetic Reasoning—make up the AFQT used to qualify for military service.
