Concentration Related to Dance Exercise \nGulsum Bastug1 \n1Mugla Sitki Kocman University, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Turkey \nAbstract \nIn this study was to examine the body composition, flexibility, balance and concentration \ncharacteristics of dance exercise. Total of 268 university students whose average age was 20.59 \n± 1.59 years were included. Height measurements, body weight measurements, flexibility \nmeasurements, balance test, concentration test of the students who had dance courses (the \nexperimental group) and those who did not have dance courses (the control group) were provided \ntwice, at the beginning of and at the end of the study as pre-test and post-test. Frequency \nanalyses, descriptive statistics, and paired t-test were used. There were significant differences \nbetween pre-test and post-test scores of body weight, BMI, flexibility, balance, concentration \namong the students doing dance exercises (the experimental group) . There were no significant \ndifferences between pre-test and post-test scores of body weight, BMI, concentration among the \nstudents not doing dance exercises (the control group) but there were significant differences in \nflexibility and balance scores. \nKeywords: Dance, Body composition, Flexibility, Balance, Concentration. \nContribution/Acknowledgement: All authors contributed to the conception and design of the study. \nFunding: This study received no specific financial support. \nCompeting Interests: The authors declare that they have no conflict of interests. \nTransparency: The authors confirm that the manuscript is an honest, accurate, and transparent account of the study was reported; that no vital features of the study have been omitted; and that any discrepancies from the study as planned have been explained. \nEthical: This study follows all ethical practices during writing. \nFunding: This study received no specific financial support. \nCompeting Interests: The author declares that there are no conflicts of interests regarding the publication of this paper. \nTransparency: The author confirms that the manuscript is an honest, accurate, and transparent account of the study was reported; that no vital features of the study have been omitted; and that any discrepancies from the study as planned have been explained. \nEthical: This study follows all ethical practices during writing. \nContents \n1.
