It is part ofthe awarding bodies’standard contingency planning for examinations.  \nCentres must therefore remind candidates that they must remain available until Wednesday 24 June 2026 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan.  \nStarting times of examinations  \nThe published starting time of all examinations is either 9.00 am or 1.30 pm. Each examination must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable.  \nCentres may change the starting time of an examination within the scheduled morning or afternoon session without notifying OCR, but candidates must start morning examinations no earlier than 8.30 am and by 9.30 am and afternoon examinations no earlier than 1.00 pm and by 2.00 pm.  \nIf candidates are taking two or more examinations in a session and the total time is three hours or less, centres may decide the order in which to hold them. Centres may also give candidates a supervised break of no more than twenty minutes between papers within a session. This must be conducted within the examination room, under formal examination conditions at all times.  \nThis does not apply to candidates with approved supervised rest breaks.  \nLeaving the examination  \nCandidates must remain under supervision until 10.00 am for morning examinations and until 2.30 pm for afternoon examinations. For examinations of less than one hour’s duration, candidates must be supervised until the published finishing time of the examination.  \nTimetable deviations  \nIf you need to arrange overnight supervision, the forms do not need to be returned to OCR but must be completed and held in your centre records.
