Then, they will be ready to find a nice shady place to safely snooze and slumber the day away.  \n“Croak , croak! Rub and scrub , Clean off that mud , With Cattail brushes. Polish and shine , Make it sublime , With Willow grasses. Rub and scrub , Polish and shine , Make it look divine. Croak , croak!”  \nArthur thought his lily pad was always the cleanest.  \nAs he cleaned he sang—  \n“Rub and scrub , polish and shine , Beautiful home of mine! Cleanest clean , Ever been seen , Everything so divine!”  \n“My pad is not like Sloppy Sam 's pad. His is always dirty and messy. He doesn 't clean at all! He 's always too busy enjoying himself,”thought Arthur.  \n“My pad is not like Bragging Billy 's pad,”thought Arthur.“His is never properly clean either. He just does the minimum. He 's too busy bragging about his past successes. He even leaves bits of food scattered about.”  \n“And my pad is not like Fashion Fannie 's pad. She has so much stuff on it there 's no room for anyone else. She 's too busy fussing about her looks. She has no time left to clean. Too much dust- it makes me sneeze,”thought Arthur.  \n“Rub and scrub , polish and shine. One last go and it 's di...vine Oh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!”  \nWhile Arthur was thinking about everyone else’s pad , he rubbed and scrubbed a hole in his! His pad was sinking! Oh, what to do?  \nHe tried to plug the hole with his toes or whatever he could find.
