They will be focusing on plans, elevations, and sections. Then they will reimagine their item on a different scale. \n1. Plans, sections and elevations help us understand how spaces relate to one another. More specifically, sections allow us to see things that we can or can't walk through. Sections show how things are made and the spaces within. We show elements like walls, openings, stairs and more with different thicknesses of line. Typically, a plan is atop down view, like birds eye perspective, but sections can be across. Architectural plans are also typically cut 4ft from ground. Elevations show the exterior of something / what it looks like. materials / shapes it has from the outside. \nTools Needed \n❏ Any writing utensil is fine, pen, pencil, etc ❏ Paper \n❏ Ruler \nSteps to follow \n1. Divide your paper into 4 quadrants \n2. Draw your plan: When you start drawing, all your drawings of this item should be of the same size and scale, Make sure we maintain the same size throughout all the drawings. Look at your object from the top view or bird's eye perspective. You can draw it from observation or from picture reference as closely as needed, If you can, use your ruler to measure and get a feel for proportions and to make it clear where the object starts and \nstops, make the outline darker than any details on the surface of the object. \n3. After drawing a simple plan of your item, look at it from a side view, this can be through the front, right, left or back of the item you chose.. \nThen draw 2 lines with your ruler that have the same width from the plan so that it is accurate. From one drawing to the other, they should be as similar as possible, for more information. \n4. After drawing an elevation of your item, if possible explore the inside of your item, opening it, cutting it open, or imagine what it’s like on the inside. Like in the elevation \nyou will draw 2 more project lines to transcribe the same width from the plan so that it is accurate. The section of the tomato is important because it starts to show each chamber of the tomato, something you can't see from the outside.. \n5. After drawing your plan, section and election you can reimagine your item at a different scale and draw it in a different context using the techniques you learned today and add \ncolor if you want.","cbCaivNaniOmiIJK","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivNaniOmiIJK","pdf",162290,"English","# Assignment\n## Learning objectives\n## Concepts and terminology\n## Tools needed\n## Steps to follow","[{\"question\":\"What kinds of drawings must students produce in this exercise?\",\"answer\":\"Students must create a plan, an elevation, and a section of the chosen object, then reimagine it at a different scale and context.\"},{\"question\":\"How should students ensure accuracy when drawing plans, elevations, and sections?\",\"answer\":\"Keep all drawings the same size and scale, use a ruler for measurement and proportions, and draw outlines darker than surface details.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of sections in architectural drawing?\",\"answer\":\"Sections help students see what cannot be walked through and show how things are made, including internal spaces and elements like openings, walls, and stairs.\"}]","Architecture Individual Exercise - Assignment | PDF"]
