Using their knowledge of students’ likely performance, schools should select the sample following the guidance shown in the table below. \n\n| No. of students at the school/college | No. of students whose presentations must be recorded | Minimum no. of students at each grade (Pass, Merit, Distinction) |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| 30 or fewer | All students | All students |\n| Over 30 | 30 | 10 |\n\nThe sample should be representative of the teaching groups within the school or college. \nSchools/colleges are recommended to record slightly more than the minimum number at each grade to allow for students whose performance is awarded a higher or lower grade than the school or college had anticipated. \nFor full details of what is required, please refer to the Appendix in the JCQ document on the conduct of non-examination assessments. \n[https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/non-examination-assessments](https://www.jcq.org.uk/exams-office/non-examination-assessments) \nSchools/colleges are advised to plan in advance where and when the audio-visual recording sessions will take place. Spoken Language assessments can take place at any time during the two-year course so long as the sample of audio-visual recordings is submitted by: \n• 7 May for the summer exam series \n• 5 November for November resit exam series. \nOrganisation and file naming \nAudio-visual recordings should be conducted in an organised and structured way. Each recording must contain the following information: \n• 5-digit centre number \n• component-code 8700-C \n• either: \no a single 4-digit candidate number \no multiple 4-digit candidate numbers, separated by a space \n• description, which should include: \no candidate name (forename and surname) \no outcome of the spoken presentation(Pass, Merit or Distinction) . \n• file extension, as set by the application. \nEach piece of information must be separated by an underscore “_”. \neg individual files: \n92345_ 8700-C_0001_Joe Bloggs [Pass.mp4](Pass.mp4)[ ](Pass.mp4)[92345_8700-C_0005_Jane Doe Merit.mp4](92345_8700-C_0005_Jane Doe Merit.mp4)[ ](92345_8700-C_0005_Jane Doe Merit.mp4)92345_ 8700-C_0010_John [Smith Merit.mp4](Smith Merit.mp4) \neg single file with multiple candidates: \n92345_ 8700-C-0001 0005 0010_Joe Bloggs Pass-Jane Doe Merit-John [Smith Merit.mp4](Smith Merit.mp4) \nNote: the first part of the filename (CentreNo_Component-Code_CandidateNo_ ) is used during the upload process to automatically tag (associate) the file with the candidate number specified. \nFollowing this convention will make to process of uploading and submitting the samples a lot smoother and avoid needing to manually tag files to candidates. \nThe recording of each student’s presentation, including questions and feedback from the audience, must be complete and unedited. Any proceedings at the beginning or end which are not part of the assessment should not be recorded or should be edited out. \nAll students should identify themselves and their school or college at the start of the recording by either holding an A4 written sign to the camera or by stating their name and centre. \nSchools/colleges can make the recordings on any audio-visual recording device that they have available, including on webcams, video recorders and iPads. Each recording must be of a good quality; the image of the student must be stable and clear and any participants in the assessment, including the student and audience members, must be clearly audible. It is the school/college responsibility to ensure that the image and sound on each recording is of a good quality. Awarding bodies will not be able to verify the school/college assessment of Spoken language if the recordings submitted are of poor quality. \n","cbCaibZJYtCjO5T8","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibZJYtCjO5T8","pdf",168915,"English","# Sample selection and submission requirements\n## Recording numbers by student population\n## Recommended over-sampling\n## Submission deadlines\n# Organisation and file naming\n## Required metadata in each recording\n## File naming structure and tagging\n# Recording quality and process\n## Completeness and editing rules\n## Student identification at start\n## Equipment, audio, and image quality checks\n## File size and resolution guidance\n# Supported video formats","[{\"question\":\"How many student presentations must be recorded if a school has 30 or fewer students?\",\"answer\":\"All students’ presentations must be recorded, and the minimum number at each grade is also all students.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the required file naming structure for the audiovisual recordings?\",\"answer\":\"Each piece of required information must be separated by an underscore, including the 5-digit centre number, component code 8700-C, and either a single 4-digit candidate number or multiple candidate numbers separated by spaces, plus a description with candidate name and outcome.\"},{\"question\":\"What recording quality requirements must schools meet?\",\"answer\":\"Recordings must be stable and clear, with all participants including the student and audience members clearly audible.
