It is a suite of English tests for adults and young adults, which can be used to assess English language ability in all four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. \nAptis tests don’t test at a single level. Instead, they include a range of questions, which are designed to allow candidates to show their best ability. The test results are reported on a numerical scale (0–50) and as a level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) . \nThere are four variations of Aptis tests. \n1. Aptis General \ntests from A1 to C on the CEFR and is suitable for most test-takers. \n2. Aptis Advanced \ntests English language ability from B1 to C2 on the CEFR and is for higher level test-takers. \n3. Aptis for Teachers \ntests from A1 to C on the CEFR and is designed for teachers. \n4. Aptis for Teens \ntests from A1 to C on the CEFR and is for candidates between the ages of 13 and 17 years. Aptis tests are taken on a computer. \nAccommodations can be made for special needs. Information is provided in the ‘Aptis for all’ section at the end of this guide. \nThe purpose of this guide is to help you prepare for the Aptis General tests. An overview of each component is provided followed by detailed descriptions and advice on how to best prepare. You’ll also find tips on how to practise for the test and information on how the testis marked. There is also a section towards the end of the guide that covers Aptis Advanced. \n3 Aptis Candidate Guide \nContents \n\n| | |\n| --- | --- |\n| Introducing the Aptis test | 2 |\n| Test structure | 5 |\n| Aptis General test structure | 6 |\n| Aptis core test (grammar and vocabulary) | 8 |\n| Sample grammar questions | 9 |\n| Sample vocabulary questions | 10 |\n| Aptis reading test | 12 |\n| Reading part 1: Sentence comprehension | 14 |\n| Reading part 2: Text cohesion | 15 |\n| Reading part 3: Opinion matching | 16 |\n| Reading part 4: Long text comprehension | 17 |\n| Aptis listening test | 18 |\n| Listening part 1: Information recognition | 19 |\n| Listening part 2: Information matching | 20 |\n| Listening part 3: Opinion matching | 21 |\n| Listening part 4: Monologue comprehension | 21 |\n| Aptis writing test | 22 |\n| Writing part 1: Word-level writing | 25 |\n| Writing part 2: Short text writing | 26 |\n| Writing part 3: Three written parts of text, all of which require responses | 28 |\n| Writing part 4: Formal and informal writing | 30 |\n| Aptis speaking test | 33 |\n| Speaking part 1: Personal information | 35 |\n| Speaking part 2: Describe, express opinion and provide reasons and explanation | 40 |\n| Speaking part 3: Describe, compare and provide reasons and explanations | 41 |\n| Speaking part 4: Discuss personal experience and opinion on an abstract topic | 44 |\n\n4 Aptis Candidate Guide \n\n| Aptis Advanced test | 47 |\n| --- | --- |\n| Aptis Advanced reading test | 47 |\n| Aptis Advanced listening test | 48 |\n| Aptis Advanced writing test | 49 |\n| Aptis Advanced speaking test | 52 |\n| How to take the online test | 55 |\n| Speaking test voice recording | 56 |\n| Aptis for all | 58 |\n| Final checklist | 59 |\n| Useful web resources | 59 |\n| More information | 59 |\n\n5 Aptis Candidate Guide \nTest structure \nAptis consists of five components: core (grammar and vocabulary), reading, listening, writing and speaking. \nYou may be taking one skill component (for example, listening) or all four skill components (reading, listening, writing and speaking) depending on the requirements by your organisation or institution. \nIt is a good idea to take a practice test so that you become familiar with what you need to do. \n6 Aptis Candidate Guide \nAptis General test structure \nTest Test design Activity Format \n\n| Core\u003Cbr>25\u003Cbr>minutes | Part 1 | Grammar | Sentence completio","cbCaichVT8G80vJ5","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaichVT8G80vJ5","pdf",6332290,"English","# Introducing the Aptis test\n# Test structure\n# Aptis General test structure\n## Aptis core test (grammar and vocabulary)\n## Aptis reading test\n## Aptis listening test\n## Aptis writing test\n## Aptis speaking test\n# Aptis Advanced test\n# How to take the online test\n# Aptis for all\n# Final checklist\n# Useful web resources\n# More information","[{\"question\":\"What skills and test components does Aptis assess?\",\"answer\":\"Aptis assesses four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking, plus a core component covering grammar and vocabulary.\"},{\"question\":\"What does Aptis General test cover on the CEFR scale?\",\"answer\":\"Aptis General includes questions from A1 to C on the CEFR and is suitable for most test-takers.\"},{\"question\":\"How is Aptis administered and how are results reported?\",\"answer\":\"Aptis tests are taken on a computer, and results are reported both on a numerical scale (0–50) and as a CEFR level.\"}]","Aptis Candidate Guide - April 2020 | PDF",1790749298,151]
