While considering the psychologists and studies that have shaped the field, students explore and apply psychological theories, key concepts, and phenomena associated with such topics as the biological bases of behavior, sensation and perception, learning and cognition, motivation, developmental psychology, testing and individual differences, treatments of psychological disorders, and social psychology. Throughout the course, students employ psychological research methods, including ethical considerations, as they use the scientific method, evaluate claims and evidence, and effectively communicate ideas. \nThe purpose of this AP Psychology course is to introduce students to the study of the behavior and \nmental processes of the human brain. This class will prepare students for the AP exam in May. This course includes the following modules: \nModule 1 – Scientific Foundations of Psychology Module 2-Biological Bases of Psychology Module 3 – Sensation and Perception \nModule 4-Cognitive Psychology \nModule 5 – Learning \nModule 6-Developmental Psychology \nModule 7-Motivation, Emotion, and Personality Module 8-Clinical Psychology \nModule 9-Social Psychology \nTextbook \nMyers, David G. Psychology. New York: Bedford, Freeman, & Worth Publishers. 2018, 12th edition \nCourse Participation Policy \nStudents should follow the Course Schedule (located in Course Information area of course) and all course work must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM on the due date. \nAfter the due date has passed, instructors will enter zeros in the Grade Center for work not submitted by the deadline. During student breaks and towards the end of the semester, students may have the opportunity to improve their course grade by completing and submitting work with grades of zero from earlier in the semester. Zeros will remain in the Grade Center until course work is submitted and evaluated by the instructor. \nThe CVA term ends prior to the end of the traditional school semester. The final date work will be accepted each term is posted on the CVA website ([www.cobbvirtualacademy.org](www.cobbvirtualacademy.org)) . \nGrading \nGrades for the course are calculated based on category percentages as follows: \nAssignments = 20% \nQuizzes = 10% \nDiscussion Boards = 10% \nTests = 50% \nFinal Exam = 10% \nAll tests in this course are modeled after the pace of the AP Exam. This timing requirement prepares students for the multiple-choice portion of the AP Exam. Exceeding the time limit on tests in this course may result in loss of points or students being required to retake the test. \nAcademic Integrity \nAcademic integrity is the cornerstone of learning at CVA and we take the integrity and authenticity of student work very seriously. When academic integrity is maintained, students will make decisions based on values that will prepare them to be productive, meaningful, and ethical citizens. \nStudents are required to abide by the CVA Academic Integrity Policy. Academic dishonesty in any form will not be tolerated. The CVA Academic Integrity Policy outlines the consequences if students fail to maintain academic integrity in their course. For additional information, the CVA Academic Integrity Policy is posted on the CVA website. \nAdditional General Information \n• Students must complete the mandatory online CVA Student Orientation each term before any course work will be graded by the instructor. Only one Student Orientation is completed each term. \n• All course work must be submitted through Blackboard in the format requested. Students \nshould have access to Microsoft Office and submit assignments in that format. All CCSD students have access to the Office 365 Suite. Assignments submitted through email will not be accepted. \n• The ‘Grade before Final Exam/EOC’ column in the student Gr","cbCaid16EqHyr0d9","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaid16EqHyr0d9","pdf",194461,"English","# Course Description\n## Course Purpose and Modules\n## Textbook\n# Course Participation Policy and Submission Deadlines\n## Grading\n## Academic Integrity\n# Additional General Information","[{\"question\":\"What topics are covered in the AP Psychology modules?\",\"answer\":\"The modules cover scientific foundations, biological bases, sensation and perception, cognitive psychology, learning, developmental psychology, motivation emotion and personality, clinical psychology, and social psychology.\"},{\"question\":\"How is the course grade calculated?\",\"answer\":\"Grades are based on assignments (20%), quizzes (10%), discussion boards (10%), tests (50%), and the final exam (10%).\"},{\"question\":\"What are the academic integrity and submission requirements?\",\"answer\":\"Students must follow the CVA Academic Integrity Policy, and academic dishonesty is not tolerated.
