They also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their research and applications. The Curriculum reflects the goals of the National Geography Standards (2012) .  \nCollege Course Equivalent  \nThe AP Human Geography course is equivalent to an introductory college-level course in human geography.  \nPrerequisites  \nThere are no prerequisites for AP Human Geography other than those noted on the placement guide. Students should be able to read college-level texts and write grammatically correct, complete sentences.  \nAP Credit  \nStudents who enroll in AP Classes and successfully pass the AP exam with a 3 or higher may gain college credit for the course.  \nAP Quality Point  \nStudents who enroll in AP Classes will receive a GPA Quality Point towards their overall GPA credits.  \nAP Classroom Expectations  \n• Students are expected to actively participate in classroom activities.  \n• Students are expected to work on independent work in order to reach success in the course and on the APExam.  \no Independent Work consists of regularly accessing additional resources and materials at home that is inclusive of the required textbook, watching AP Daily Review Videos, reviewing vocabulary and concepts, and any additional materials to help students develop an understanding of course content.
