In order to use time wisely, we are doing some prep work over the summer. You will be held accountable for this information. Please take it seriously. This is your first project grade of the school year and will be due the first day of school. \n*Questions, [please email me at:](please email me at: mnicolini@jupiterchristian.org)[ mnicolini@jupiterchristian.org](please email me at: mnicolini@jupiterchristian.org) \nPart One: The World \nYou are to go to [https://online.seterra.com/en/l/pdf](https://online.seterra.com/en/l/pdf) and print each of the maps below. \n• North America \n• Central America \n• South America \n• Europe \n• Middle East (North Africa/Southwest Asia) \n• Africa \nAsia (draw borders to differentiate between the regions of Asia) \n• East Asia/Central Asia \n• South Central Asia \n• Southeast Asia \n• East Asia \nOnce you print these maps, label all countries and capitals on the map using the resources below. Country names are bolded and capitalized. Using colored pencils, color in each country. \nBe sure to use different colors for the countries. Bodies of water do not need to be colored. Once you have labeled all of these maps, put them in individual sheet protectors in your binder. You will be quizzed on these countries. In this course, they assume you know where countries are, thus we will study locations at the beginning of the year and throughout the course. \nOnline Map Resources: \n[https://lizardpoint.com/geography/world-countries-quiz.php](https://lizardpoint.com/geography/world-countries-quiz.php) \n[https://online.seterra.com/en/l/pdf](https://online.seterra.com/en/l/pdf) [http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Geography.htm](http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/Geography.htm) \n(Map practice with games) \nPart Two: The Issues \nThere are many different issues that we will discuss in Human Geography. It helps to have a basic understanding of these issues prior to the course. Please research the following topics using reputable sources such as BBC News Network, CNN, New York Times, Newsweek, Time, PBS The World, Discus, etc. Wikipedia is NOT a reputable source. It is a good starting point to get an overview of the subject but then you need to scroll down to the links section at the bottom and look at their sources (if you are having trouble finding information) . \nFor each issue, you will do an ID. An “ID” consists of: list out your answers in sentences; do not write in paragraph form (1-2 sentences MAX for each): \n• Who \n• What \n• Where \n• When \n• Why Significant \nYou may not be able to address all 5 areas for each ID but you should answer all that are applicable. You will also cite your sources in simple format (name of source, article name if appropriate) . \n• Bride Burning in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh \n• Fall of communism and the legacy of the Cold War \n• Apartheid in South Africa \n• Rust Belt and Deindustrialization in USA \n• Territorial disputes in Kashmir \n• Immigration Policies and Issues between the US and Mexico \n• Maquiladoras in Mexico \n• Population decline in Japan and Russia \nPart Three: Preparation for Class \nYou will need to construct your organizational system for this class. Because the AP exam is cumulative and consists of a vast array of information, you will need to be as organized as possible to prepare yourself to the best of your ability. I am here to help you do so. For this class, you will need: \n• 3 ring binder, 1 1/2 inch + (sturdy) \n• Sheet protectors (a small amount pack is fine) \n• Pack of dividers (10+) \n• Colored Pencils \nCreate your Geography binder. This will be the brains of your operation. Your binder should have your dividers, lab","cbCaia2tm88eY9TY","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaia2tm88eY9TY","pdf",253367,"English","# Part One: The World\n## Map printing and labeling requirements\n# Part Two: The Issues\n## ID structure and research sources\n# Part Three: Preparation for Class\n## Required materials and binder organization","[{\"question\":\"When is the summer assignment due, and how is it graded?\",\"answer\":\"The completed work is due the first day of school and serves as the first project grade of the school year.
