Any student who receives a score of three (or above) on College Board’s five-point grading system typically receives college credit by most public colleges. \nMoreover, regardless of exam score, many colleges and universities view participation in the AP program as a sign of a motivated student. The course is advanced not only in reading and writing, but in the depth of the material. Students taking this course will learn at an accelerated pace and must exhibit responsibility, good work ethic, and a drive to learn to achieve college readiness skills and (potential) college credit. \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION \nIt’s been said that change is the only true constant. Calculus helps make sense of change by grappling with questions that inspire thinkers from around the globe, across time, and in many disciplines. Can change occur in an instant? When is the next solar eclipse or the turning point for an economy? In AP Calculus AB, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of mathematical principles that can help you answer questions such as these. This class is equivalent to a first-semester college calculus course devoted to topics in differential and integral calculus. \nCOURSE ACTIVITIES \nBelow you will find descriptions ofthe most common activities that students will participate in during the course of each semester. Throughout the year, ALL students will: \n● Participate with in-class instruction (take notes) . All instruction will be recorded and uploaded to Google Classroom \n● Practice with homework to master homework checks \n● Engage in classroom discussions regarding the material/class \n● Get experience working AP style questions directly from College Board \n● Solve real-world problems that arise from a need for Calculus \nEXAM DATE: Monday May 10th, 2027 \nGRADES → YWLA Grading Expectations (PLEASE REVIEW!) \nMajor (Exams/Quizzes) 60% \nMinor (Homework Checks) 40% \nAP Calculus AB 2026-2027 \nUpdated: August 7, 2026 \nYWLA High School Math all use homework checks as minor grades instead of homework. We believe that homework should be penalty free practice and that students should have access to immediate feedback. We make sure students have a way to check their answers as they are working out the problems. Each day, you will come in and take a short homework quiz that will check your understanding of the prior lesson. \nCLASSROOM RESOURCES \n● AP Textbook: Calculus, Volumes 1 and 2 by OpenStax. 1 | 2 \n● Google Classroom: [https://classroom.google.com/ ](https://classroom.google.com/ code: 6aawuhj3)[ code:](https://classroom.google.com/ code: 6aawuhj3)[ 6aawuhj3](https://classroom.google.com/ code: 6aawuhj3) \n● AP Classroom: [https://myap.collegeboard.org/login](https://myap.collegeboard.org/login) \n● Course Exam Description (CED) \n● Desmos graphing: [https://www.desmos.com/calculator](https://www.desmos.com/calculator and TI-84 Calculator)[ and TI-84 Calculator](https://www.desmos.com/calculator and TI-84 Calculator)[ ](https://www.desmos.com/calculator and TI-84 Calculator)(provided) \n● Delta Math: [https://www.deltamath.com](https://www.deltamath.com/)[/](https://www.deltamath.com/) \nCOURSE CONTENT (full Course Content found here) \n\n| Unit | Course Content | % of Exam |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| 0 | Precalculus Review | - |\n| 1 | Limits and Continuity | 10-12 |\n| 2 | Differentiation: Definition and Fundamental Properties | 10-12 |\n| 3 | Differentiation: Composite, Implicit and Inverse Functions | 9-13 |\n| 4 | Contextual Applications of Differentiation | 10-15 |\n| 5 | Analytical Applications of Differentiation | 15-18 |\n| 6 | Integration and Accumulation of Change | 17","cbCairNXxfwBY8qh","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCairNXxfwBY8qh","pdf",269499,"English","# Course Overview\n## What Is Advanced Placement (AP)?\n## Course Description\n## Course Activities\n## Exam Date and Grading Expectations\n## Classroom Resources\n## Course Content (Units)","[{\"question\":\"When is the AP Calculus AB exam and what units are covered?\",\"answer\":\"The exam date is Monday, May 10th, 2027.
