Printed by Faulstich Printing.  \n1  \nPrologue: President’s Welcome  \nPresident Stephen Nacco has been DACC’s president since 2016.  \nDACC’s founding President Mary Miller, who led the College from 1946 through 1972.  \nDr. William J. Langas, president from 1972 to 1978.  \nDr. Ronald K. Lingle, president from 1981 to 1988.  \nDr. Joseph A. Borgen, president from 1978 to 1981.  \nDr. Harry J. Braun, president from 1989 to 1999.  \nDr. Alice Marie Jacobs, president from 1999 to 2016. The Board appointed her as president emerita in 2016.  \nDear Friends of DACC:  \nThank you for opening DACC’s 2022 Annual Report.  \nAs an open admission , comprehensive community college , Danville Area Community College is one of 1 ,200 American higher education institutions known as “democracy’s colleges .” We proudly welcome all people who aspire to improve their lives through higher education .  \nIn this annual report , we adopt the “Write Your Story at DACC” theme which has become our “call to action” for our students . We encourage students to dream big when they attend DACC and plot out their personal success story.  \nAs DACC’s faculty and staff, we’re committed to doing all we can to ensure that our students’ stories have a happy ending. The chapters in this book reflect the various ways we achieve this . It all begins in Chapter One with DACC’s leadership—and in particular the locally elected citizens on the DACC Board of Trustees . Every Board member is dedicated to the College’s student-service mission .  \nChapter Two looks at our work over the past year to improve student learning. Chapter Three explores initiatives that directly address student success . Chapter Four, titled “Institutional Excellence ,” features improvements in our facilities , technology, and employee development. Chapter Five ,“Organizational Advancement ,” reports on how DACC connects to the communities it serves .  \nThis annual report concludes with chapters that provide information about the Danville Campus and the Hoopeston Learning Center. A chapter on the DACC Foundation shares information about the College’s enormous success in supporting students through scholarships . Chapter Nine provides a snapshot on DACC’s finances , and Chapter 10 features key milestones throughout the College’s 76-year history.  \nAs president of DACC , I always love telling our story.
