We believe access to rigorous course work such as Advanced Placement® plays an important role in that success. \n• Advanced Placement® classes are globally recognized, college \nlevel courses that you can take in High School. Each course culminates in a standardized exam. \nPotential Benefits \nAP® builds skills and confidence which helps to prepare students for success in college. \n• Discover your passions / gain confidence! \n• Acquire academic skills for college \n• Boost your GPA \n• Stand out on college applications \n• Potentially earn college credit or advanced placement, saving you time and money by earning a 3 or higher on your AP Exam. Check the AP Credit Policy Search or contact the college directly for more information. \nThe Research \n• AP students who earn a score of 1 or 2 have significantly stronger college outcomes than college students who did not take an AP course and Exam. \n• AP Students are more likely to enroll in a 4-year college compared to academically similar students who did not take an AP course. \n• Students who earn an AP score of 2 are well prepared to succeed in introductory college coursework. \nFor example, students taking Intro to Stats in college who did not take AP Stats in High School earn, on average, 3.03 in Introductory Statistics while students with a score of 2 on the AP Stats Exam earn, on average, a course grade of 3.39 \nSource: New Analyses of AP Scores of 1 and 2 June 2021 \nAP ® at Foxborough High School \n• In 2024, 196 students took 494 exams through FHS. 77% earned a score of 3 or higher. \n• 30 AP Scholars-Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. (Average Score: 3.12) \n• 3 AP Capstone Diplomas-Granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar & AP Research and on 4 additional AP Exams of their choosing. \nAP ® Exam Format & Fees \nAP Exams are administered on designated dates in May each year. \nExams are typically 2-3 hours and include: \n• Multiple-choice questions \n• Free-response items such as essays, problem solving, document-based questions and oral response \n• Most exams are hybrid or fully digital and require students to use the school issued laptop. \nThe AP exam fee for 2025-2026 will be $115 and AP Capstone is $155 . \n• Please note that this fee is subject to change based on College Board’s rates. FHS charges a slightly higher fee to cover the cost of proctors and ordering fees. Payments made after November 14th will result in a $40 late fee per exam. \n• Students should see their Guidance Counselor if they have a financial concern. We do not want the fee to discourage students from taking an AP course. \nOur AP ® Courses \n• AP Capstone: AP Seminar, AP Research \n• Art: 2-D Art and Design, 3-D Art and Design, and Drawing Portfolios \n• English: English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition \n• History and Social Studies: European History, Psychology, United States Government and Politics, United States History \n• Mathematics: Calculus AB & BC, Statistics \n• Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics C: Mechanics \n• World Language: French Language and Culture, Spanish Language and Culture \n• Additional AP courses may be offered through VHS (Computer Science A, Macroeconomics, etc. ) \nWhat is it like to take AP ® ?","cbCaiqxe034VdbpF","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqxe034VdbpF","pdf",848187,14,"English","# What are Advanced Placement® Courses and how might they benefit me?\n# AP ® Exams offered at FHS\n# What Is It Like to Take AP?\n# Q & A\n# Potential Benefits\n# The Research\n# AP ® at Foxborough High School\n# AP ® Exam Format & Fees\n# Our AP ® Courses","[{\"question\":\"What are Advanced Placement® courses and how do they work at Foxborough High School?\",\"answer\":\"Advanced Placement® classes are globally recognized, college-level courses taken during high school.
