This test is one of the California Standards Tests administered as part of the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program under policies set by the State Board of Education. \nAll questions on the California Standards Tests are evaluated by committees of content experts, including teachers and administrators, to ensure their appropriateness for measuring the California academic content standards in Algebra I. In addition to content, all items are reviewed and approved to ensure their adherence to the principles of fairness and to ensure no bias exists with respect to characteristics such as gender, ethnicity, and language. \nThis document contains released test questions from the California Standards Test forms in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. First on the pages that follow are lists of the standards assessed on the Algebra I Test. Next are released test questions. Following the questions is a table that gives the correct answer for each question, the content standard that each question is measuring, and the year each question last appeared on the test. \nThe following table lists each reporting cluster, the number of items that appear on the exam, and the number of released test questions that appear in this document. Some of the released test questions for Algebra I are the same test questions found in different combinations on the Integrated Mathematics 1 and 2 California Standards Tests and the Summative High School Mathematics California Standards Test. \nNUMBER OF NUMBER OF \nREPORTING CLUSTER \nQUESTIONS ON EXAM \nRELEASED TEST QUESTIONS \n\n| Number Properties, Operations, and Linear Equations | 17 | 25 |\n| --- | --- | --- |\n| Graphing and Systems of Linear Equations | 14 | 21 |\n| Quadratics and Polynomials | 21 | 30 |\n| Functions and Rational Expressions | 13 | 20 |\n| TOTAL | 65 | 96 |\n\nIn selecting test questions for release, three criteria are used: (1) the questions adequately cover a selection of the academic content standards assessed on the Algebra I Test ; (2) the questions demonstrate a range of difficulty; and (3) the questions present a variety of ways standards can be assessed. These released test questions do not reflect all of the ways the standards may be assessed. Released test questions will not appear on future tests. \nFor more information about the California Standards Tests, visit the California Department of Education’s Web site at [http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sr/resources.asp](http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/sr/resources.asp). \n— 1 — \nThis is a sample of California Standards Test questions. This is NOT an operational test form. Test scores cannot be projected based on performance on released test questions. These questions represent only some ways in which these standards may be assessed on the Algebra I California Mathematics Standards Test. \nCALIFORNIA CONTENT STANDARDS IN THIS REPORTING CLUSTER \n\n| Algebra I | |\n| --- | --- |\n| Standard Set 1.0 | Students identify and use the arithmetic properties of subsets of integers and rational, irrational, and real numbers, including closure properties for the four basic arithmetic operations where applicable: |\n| 1.1 | Students use properties of numbers to demonstrate whether assertions are true or false. |\n| 2.0* | Students understand and use such operations as taking the opposite, finding the reciprocal, taking a root, and raising to a fractional power. They understand and use the rules of exponents. |\n| 3.0 | Students solve equations","cbCaieCT4Q8xmWMT","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieCT4Q8xmWMT","pdf",686348,31,"English","# Introduction - Algebra I\n# Number Properties, Operations, and Linear Equations Reporting Cluster\n## California Content Standards in This Reporting Cluster\n# Graphing and Systems of Linear Equations Reporting Cluster","[{\"question\":\"What program do these released Algebra I test questions belong to?\",\"answer\":\"They come from the California Standards Tests administered under the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program.\"},{\"question\":\"How are the questions selected and reviewed for release?\",\"answer\":\"Questions are reviewed by committees of content experts, and selection uses criteria covering standards coverage, a range of difficulty, and variety in how standards are assessed.\"},{\"question\":\"What reporting information does the document provide for Algebra I?\",\"answer\":\"It lists reporting clusters and shows the number of exam questions and the number of released test questions included for each cluster, along with the standards each question measures.\"}]","Algebra I - Released Test Questions - Standard Set | PDF",78]
