abstracting and announcement medium for ref-erences on this subject The publication is compiled through the cooperative efforts of theAerospace Medicine and Biology Bibliography Project of the Library of Congress(LC),the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics(AIAA),and NASA It assembles,within the covers of a single bibhographic announcement,groups of references that wereformerly announced in separate journals,and provides a convenient compilation for medi-cal and biological scientists Additional background details for this publication can be foundin the first issue,NASA SP-7011,which was published in July,1964.Supplements areidentified by the same number followed by two additional digits in parentheses  \nIn its subject coverage,Aerospace Medicine and Biology concentrates on the biological,physiological,psychological,and environmental effects to which man is subjected duringand following simulated or actual flight in the earth's atmosphere or in interplanetary spaceReferences describing similar effects on biological organisms of lower order are also in-cluded Such related topics as sanitary problems,pharmacology,toxicology,safety andsurvival,hfe support systems,exobiology,and personnel factors receive appropriate atten-tion In general,emphasis will be placed on applied research,but references to fundamen-tal studies and theoretical principles related to experimental development also qualify forinclusion The contents of this issue are comprised of abstracts that were prepared by thethree contributing organizations
