The ABE program is designed for individuals aged 17 and older who are not currently enrolled in another educational institution. It focuses on developing essential skills in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science, with the ultimate goal of preparing students to pass the GED test and earn their diploma. The program utilizes a combination of traditional classroom instruction and individualized learning, with distance learning options available for eligible students. The GED program aims to meet the diverse educational needs of adult and nontraditional learners in their communities. With over thirty years of experience, the Adult Education Services Program has demonstrated significant success, evidenced by high participation numbers, GED completion rates, and a notable percentage of students transitioning to higher education. Additionally, the thriving ESL (English as a Second Language) Program caters to the growing non-English speaking population, empowering them to communicate in English before potentially pursuing the GED and enrolling at Trinidad State College (TSC). The ABE program also facilitates the transition from GED completion to degree or certificate programs at TSC.
