Explains how candidates and centres should use the updated per-series list to prepare qualifying, syllabus and component-specific provision. Details materials centres must supply, materials candidates must bring, and rules for calculators, dictionaries, and rough work. Clarifies what is not covered by the list, pointing to syllabuses and question-paper front instructions.","Additional exam materials list \nMarch 2026 series \nThe additional exam materials list is updated before each series. You should make sure you only use the list for the relevant exam series and year. \nThis list is valid for any exam in the March 2026 exam series where candidates require additional exam materials. This PDF list will tell you: \n• which additional materials candidates need in the exam \n• which additional materials you need to provide \n• which additional materials we provide \n• whether candidates should answer directly on the question paper, on multiple-choice answer sheets or on an answer booklet provided as an insert in the question paper. \nThe ‘Additional Materials’ section on the front covers of question papers will say: ‘You will need:’. This will list what the candidate needs and will include items we provide such as an answer booklet, an insert or amap. It will also include the extra exam materials that you need to provide to the candidate in addition to the standard materials that all candidates need. \nCalculators are no longer listed in this document as additional exam materials for mathematics components. See ‘Materials candidates must provide’ below. \nHow to use the additional exam materials list \nUse the bookmarks in this PDF to find the qualification, syllabus and component you need. You can download and print this additional exam materials list, but you should look out for any updates before the start of the exam series. We will let you know in the Exams officers e-Newsletter if we update the additional exam materials list. Make invigilators aware of the information and have a copy of this list available in the \nexam room. \nMaterials you must provide \nYou need to provide all candidates with the following materials for each exam: \n• writing paper/answer booklets unless the list states that candidates should answer on the question paper or multiple-choice answer sheets, or if an answer booklet has been provided as an insert in the question paper \n• for some mathematics papers, candidates may have been taught using tracing paper for transformations. Where this is the case, you should provide candidates with tracing paper. \nMaterials candidates must provide \nCandidates need to provide the following materials for each exam: \n• their own pens (permanent, non-erasable dark blue or black ink for international centres and black ink only for UK centres), pencils, drawing instruments (including rulers) and erasers \n• for all science components: a calculator, 300 mm ruler, protractor, set square and pair of compasses \n• for mathematics components: a calculator. Please note calculators are not allowed for the following components: \no 0444 IGCSE Mathematics (US), components 1 and 2 \no 0580 IGCSE Mathematics, components 1 and 2 \no 0607 IGCSE Cambridge International Mathematics, components 1 and 2 \no 4024 Cambridge O Level Mathematics (Syllabus D), component 1 \no 0862 Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics, component 1 \no 0096 Cambridge Primary Mathematics, component 1 \nIt is essential that you make sure that candidates do not bring any unauthorised materials into the exam room. See section 5.1.7 of the Cambridge Handbook for further guidance on this. \nMaterials not covered by the additional exam materials list \nThe additional exam materials list does not cover the following: \n• specific materials for use in science exams. You will find these in the relevant syllabus booklet or in the confidential instructions that come with the question papers \n• details of the maps supplied for Cambridge IGCSE Geography components. These are sent together with the question papers \n• the standard materials the centre needs to record speaking and listening tests such as CDs \n• requirements for coursework components \n• references to accounting paper, music paper and A2/A3 drawing paper or technical drawing equipment.
