The ACT consists of four multiple-choice tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science; and a 40-minute essay test that measures student writing skills. School-wide testing is done in the Spring of a student’s 11th grade year and is no cost to the student. \nMany students decide to take the test multiple times to ensure they have the best score possible since the score is used for college entrance, scholarships, NCAA eligibility requirements, etc. If a student would like to take additional tests, they must register directly [with ACT at](with ACT at www.act.org)[ ](with ACT at www.act.org)[www.act.org](with ACT at www.act.org). \nTest Preparation and Practice \nMost of the preparation for the ACT is done in the classroom daily. This is why daily success is important for students throughout all of high school. And the more rigorous a courseload, the better prepared a student will be for the content covered on the test. \nStudents also have access to an on-line program called Method Test Prep through the new Xello software program. Xello helps students create their own, unique roadmap for future success through self-knowledge, exploration and planning. This test prep program that is apart of Xello assesses your skills and knowledge in the four subject areas you will be tested on. It provides a pre-test, study guide that is broken down into the specific subject areas, and a post-test. You can access this through ClassLink at [https://launchpad.classlink.com/kusd](https://launchpad.classlink.com/kusd). \nHere are some additional sites that provide sample and practice test questions: \nThe ACT with writing practice test: \n[http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf](http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/Preparing-for-the-ACT.pdf) \nThe ACT Plus Writing sample: [http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the](http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the)act/test-preparation/writing-sample-essays. html.","cbCainW3X81Bit2g","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainW3X81Bit2g","pdf",516488,"English","# ACT with Writing Overview\n## Test Structure and Timing\n## Registration and Retakes\n# Test Preparation and Practice\n## Classroom Preparation\n## Xello Method Test Prep\n## Additional Practice Resources","[{\"question\":\"What sections and timing does the ACT with writing include?\",\"answer\":\"It includes four multiple-choice tests (English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science) plus a 40-minute essay that measures writing skills.\"},{\"question\":\"When is the ACT with writing administered for Wisconsin school-wide testing?\",\"answer\":\"School-wide testing is done in the spring of a student’s 11th grade year and is no cost to the student.\"},{\"question\":\"How can students prepare, including online options?\",\"answer\":\"Preparation is supported through daily classroom work and an online program called Method Test Prep in the Xello software, which includes a pre-test, study guide by subject, and a post-test.\"}]","ACT-Practice-Information-and-overview-2019-2020 | PDF",1790673388]
