Absalom plans revenge, invites the king’s sons to a special feast, and signals his men to murder Amnon. The other sons flee to Jerusalem while Absalom escapes to Geshur. David grieves deeply, then longs to see Absalom again until three years pass and Joab arranges a petition to return him.","054 Absalom \n2 Samuel 3:3 2 Samuel 13-15; 18 1 Chron. 3:1-9 \n1 Chron. 18:15 \nEnglish Spiritual \n054 Absalom \nEnglish \n© 2020 Wycliffe Bible Translators, Inc. \n[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/](http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) \nYou are free to make commercial use of this work. David’s first son, Amnon, loved Tamar and devised a plan to bring her to his bed. Then he raped her and hated her. So Absalom devised a plan to kill Amnon at a special feast. He invited all of the king’s sons to the feast. \nDuring the feast Absalom gave a signal to his men and they murdered Amnon. \nImmediately, the king’s other sons mounted their mules and fled to Jerusalem. Meanwhile, Absalom fled to his grandfather in Geshur. \nKing David wept and mourned many days for his son Amnon. After a time he longed to see his son Absalom again. But Absalom was away for three years. \nJoab was the commander of David’s army. He realized how much the king longed to see Absalom. \nSo Joab sent for a wise widow to plead with King David to bring home his banished son.","cbCaiaUTnPpNjqTM","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiaUTnPpNjqTM","pdf",5332622,3,1,32,"English","en",105,"# Key Characters and Backstory\n## Tamar, Amnon, and the Broken Trust\n# Revenge at the Feast\n## Absalom’s Signal and Amnon’s Death\n# Flight, Exile, and David’s Grief\n## Escape to Geshur and Returning Desire\n# Joab’s Intervention\n## The Widow’s Plea to Bring Absalom Home","[{\"question\":\"Who are the main people in the story of Absalom?\",\"answer\":\"The story focuses on Absalom, King David, Tamar, and Amnon.
