This story is set in South Dublin, Ireland, which means there will be plenty of sarcasm, questionable teenage decisions, and probably more swearing than strictly necessary. While there are moments of humour, friendship, and general chaos, this book also deals with heavier topics including grief, depression, and references to self-harm. These themes are part of the characters’journeys and are handled with care, but they may be difficult for some readers. Please take care of yourself while reading. If you decide to continue, thank you for giving these characters and their story a chance. \nSit back, relax, and enjoy! Love, \nAbbey \nAbout Us \nThis Is dedicated to anyone who thought they were ever alone \n(Or had a crush on someone they thought they had no chance with) \nChapter 1: Tadgh \nAugust 12th, 2025 \nI sat on the edge of my pew, on a warm Tuesday morning, watching. \nBecause that’s all I could do. Watch. \nShe sat up there with her mom as the priest rambled on . She was surrounded by close family, all sobbing and crying as the family stepped up to shoulder the coffins. She was wearing a tight black dress that just about reached her knees. It had slight puffed short sleeves. It was so sleek and elegant and suited her so well. Her hair was down and lightly curled around her shoulders. I swear she never looked so good. Unfortunate of the circumstances. \nHer aunt finished the eulogy and retook her seat in the second row. The priest stated his final condolences as the band started playing from the corner of the church. Dean Lewis’How Do I Say Goodbye began softly. Fuck, this was sad. A murmur of sobs and cries filled the church. \nHer mom let out a sob as the first coffin was lifted. The biggest one . I watched her carefully, but she didn’t even flinch. She just stood there and looked ahead. I knew she was screaming internally. I hated that I was so far \naway. I should be next to her holding her hand and consoling her. Well, no, I shouldn’t, but I wanted to. Badly. The next coffin was lifted. The smallest of the three. I thought I almost saw her façade slip, but she recovered so quickly I could have been imagining it. The final coffin was lifted and multiple sobs and gasps sounded from around the church. Again, not even a flinch. \nShe moved to follow the coffin with her mom nestled under her arm . Close relatives and family followed them sobbing and crying. They walked down the middle of the pews slowly. \nAfter what felt like a decade, they finally approached my pew. She glancedin my direction but didn’t change her expression; cool, strong, not bothered. I offered her a sympathetic smile. The smile she gave me in return was small and fake. I always knew she was strong, but this was just another level. Nobody can sit through the funeral of more than half of her immediate family and not crack. But she did. And walked behind them out of the church unfazed. I didn’t understand. \nBut there was plenty of things I didn’t understand about Kate Moore. \nChapter 2: Kate \nAugust 12th, 2025 \nDead. \nAli, Tom, and Dad. \nThey were all dead. \nI honestly don’t know how I am breathing let alone driving behind them to the graveyard. I went from being a family of five to a family of two overnight. When my sister ’s coffin was lifted my heart cracked. I could \nhave cried, screamed or make a scene . But I didn’t. I stayed strong. Unfazed. God only knows mom did enough crying for me the both of us . If I broke, she wouldn’t last. She was constantly telling me it was okay to cry, to let it all out. But I couldn’t. I couldn’t break down in front of my mother. I saved it for later when I was safely locked away in my room . \n“Honey?” my mother ’s voice broke through my thoughts. \n“Hmm?” \n“I have to tell you something.” \nI knew what was coming. I saw it on her laptop last night. But I nodded for her to continue anyway. \n“After the burial,” she took a deep breath to compose herself,“I have to goto the a","cbCaim9MJmuLrJYJ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaim9MJmuLrJYJ","pdf",745691,196,"English","# About Us\n## Author’s Note\n## Chapter 1: Tadgh\n## Chapter 2: Kate","[{\"question\":\"这本书的故事背景在哪里？ \"}]","About Us - Abbey Whelan | PDF",302]
