This is our way of connecting with you and bringing you interesting news and views from Actuaries across the Group.  \nAs you may know by now, the Actuarial Academy moved to Group Finance in January this year. This move has sparked discussions with leadership on connecting and engaging our actuarial talent across the Group. This resulted in several creative initiatives, one of which is the Actuarial magazine.  \nThe magazine aims to do just that, bring you news and discussions that matter to you! In this issue, we bring you thoughts from Risto Ketola, the Finance Director of MMH; Lance Raftesath, the chair of the Actuarial Management Committee; and I am proud to also introduce you to our current Actuarial bursary students and mentors.  \nDespite the challenges that 2020 has brought in terms of COVID-19, we are still very excited about the new opportunities presented, which will grow and develop with time.  \nOne of these amazing opportunities includes the funding of 15 additional undergraduate bursaries, which is now being co-funded by the INSETA. This is a significant milestone as it not only allows us to support more students, but to also join forces with government in combatting scarce skills within the country! These undergraduate students will be allocated across the Group with respective actuarial teams who will provide vacation work, mentorship and hopefully, placement after they graduate.  \nUpcoming News and Events!  \nPlease look out for the upcoming dedicated Actuarial page on LinkedIn, which aims to attract Actuarial talent and showcase Actuarial initiatives across Momentum Metropolitan.
