The texture is decomposed into nine scale levels (0.1–25.6 mm) to extract multiscale features. Relative Energy (RE) and 2D-entropy are computed to represent mixture surface texture distribution. Tests on eight mixture types show strong ability to recognize aggregates and predict gradation. In a 100 h polishing wear test, MPD correlates with macrotexture energy while RE and 2D-entropy of microtexture decline, with faster microtexture RE deterioration in the y-direction than the x-direction, enabling evaluation of texture changes under traffic wear and supporting skid and wear performance assessment.","cbCaihoSs8GytdU0","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihoSs8GytdU0","pdf",5718899,1,17,"English","en","# Abstract\n# Introduction\n## Role of pavement texture in performance\n## Traditional measurement methods\n## Sensor-based high-resolution acquisition\n## Existing indicators and signal-processing approaches","[{\"question\":\"What data source and method are used for pavement texture characterization?\",\"answer\":\"The approach characterizes pavement texture using 3D laser scanner data and applies 2D-wavelet decomposition to analyze multiscale features.\"},{\"question\":\"Which indicators quantify pavement texture in this study?\",\"answer\":\"Relative Energy (RE) and 2D-entropy are calculated as indicators to describe mixture surface texture distribution properties.\"},{\"question\":\"How do the texture indicators change during the 100 h polishing wear test?\",\"answer\":\"MPD shows high correlation with macrotexture energy, while RE and 2D-entropy for micro-texture decrease during polishing.
