Methods: HepG2 and Huh7 liver cancer cells and THLE-2 normal liver cells were exposed to OM-100 at 0, 10, 25, 50, and 100 kHz for 2 hours across morning, noon, and evening, assessing viability, apoptosis, migration, invasion, and ROS. In vivo experiments examined safety and tumor growth. Results: OM-100 reduced cancer cell viability, induced apoptosis, and suppressed migration and invasion in a frequency-dependent manner, with tumor growth slowing in vivo; ROS increased and supported autophagy-related progression. Conclusion: OM-100 showed safety and strong inhibition of liver cancer progression at 100 kHz.",{"@graph":69,"@context":123},[70,84,106],{"@type":71
BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82
@type":76
https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem
@type":76
https://docshare.wps.com/document/
@type":76
https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/",3
@type":76
https://docshare.wps.com/document/a-new-tumor-treating-device-om-100-with-low-frequency-magnetic-fields-inhibits-proliferation-and-metastasis-in-liver-cancer/334076/
@type":85
"DigitalDocument
@type":88
https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/a-new-tumor-treating-device-om-100-with-low-frequency-magnetic-fields-inhibits-proliferation-and-metastasis-in-liver-cancer/334076.png","ImageObject",300,407
@type":93},"Skyler","Person
@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-28","2026-09-21",true,{"@type":102
InteractionCounter",{"@type":104},"ViewAction",11,{"@type":107
FAQPage",[109,115,119
@type":111
What is the purpose of OM-100 in this study?","Question
@type":114},"To investigate whether the novel OM-100 device delivering low-frequency magnetic fields can be applied to treat liver cancer by evaluating anti-cancer effects and safety.","Answer
@type":111
How were cells treated to test OM-100 effects?
@type":114},"Liver cancer cell lines HepG2 and Huh7 and a normal liver cell line THLE-2 were exposed to OM-100 at 0, 10, 25, 50, and 100 kHz for 2 hours in the morning, noon, and evening.
@type":111
What outcomes did OM-100 produce in liver cancer models?
@type":114},"In vitro, OM-100 reduced cancer cell viability, increased apoptosis, and inhibited migration and invasion in a frequency-dependent manner; in vivo, it slowed tumor growth and promoted apoptosis while rarely harming normal cells or mice.","https://schema.org
"article
index,follow
334076,1790015117
2336464648746,"https://ap-avatar.wpscdn.com/davatar_276721f389ce27ea32af1340a28f341c","Zhang et al. The effects of LFMF on cell viability, apoptosis, migration, and invasion capabilities were examined. Additionally, impacts of LFMF on ROS production was assessed. In vivo studies were conducted to examine the safety profile of OM-100 and its effects on tumor growth.
Results In vitro, OM-100 reduced the viability of liver cancer cells, increased cell apoptosis, and inhibited cell migration and invasion abilities in a frequency-dependent manner (P < 0. 05) . In vivo, OM-100 significantly slowed down tumor growth and promoted apoptosis in liver tumors (P < 0. 05) . Moreover, OM-100 rarely affected the viability of normal liver cells, as well as the health of normal mice. Finally, we further found that OM-100 significantly increased the production of ROS in liver cancer cells (P < 0. 05), a key factor in inducing autophagy, which is very important for the progression of liver cancer.
Conclusion Our findings reveal the safety of OM-100 and its frequency at 100 kHz significantly inhibits liver cancer progression.
Keywords Tumor treating instrument, Low-frequency magnetic fields, Liver cancer, Proliferation, Migration, Invasion, Xenograft tumor model
*Correspondence:
Rui Huang
[13757190179@163.com](13757190179@163.com)
1Department of Neurosurgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine), Hangzhou 310006, China
2Academy of Integrative Medicine, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai 201203, China
3Department of Medical, Ci Xing Technology Co., Ltd, No. 100, Changhe Road, Hangzhou 310051, China
© The Author(s) 2024.
