\nAre you using the latest version of this specification? \n• You will always find the most up-to-date version of this specification on our website at \n• We will write to you if there are significant changes to the specification. \n1 Introduction \n1.1 Why choose AQA for A-level English Language and Literature \nA specification designed for you and your students \nWe have worked closely with teachers and universities to develop an accessible and stimulating course in which students engage creatively and independently with a variety of spoken, written and multi-modal texts. \nDesigned with a focus on the integration of language and literature, this specification enables students to see how linguistic and literary methods are related and to explore these links in their work. \nOffering clear skills progression from GCSE, this course allows students to build on the skills and knowledge already gained and prepare for their next steps. \nThe variety of assessment styles used, such as re-creative writing, commentary writing, discursive essays and research-based investigative writing, allows students to develop a wide range of skills. These include the ability to read critically, analyse, evaluate and undertake independent research, which are invaluable for both further study and future employment. \nChoice and flexibility \nOur specification offers a range of engaging texts with options to suit all preferences, so you can choose the texts that will be most appealing and of most interest to your students. We do not expect to change texts within the first five years of the specification. However, texts will be reviewed each year starting in September 2017 and we will give at least 9 months’ notice of any changes prior to first teaching of a two year course. The criteria for changing texts will be where a text becomes unavailable or where we can no longer use it in a question paper. This applies to all texts set for study in this specification. Notice of any change will be communicated via our exam bulletins and on our website. \nIndependent learning \nThe A-level non-exam assessment component reinforces the integrated nature of the specification whilst also providing opportunities for students to pursue their own areas of interest and develop personal and independent learning skills. \nWe support you every step of the way \nThis specification features an anthology of multi-modal texts from different genres linked by themes, which provides a valuable interactive digital resource to support teaching. \nTo further support teaching and learning, we provide a comprehensive range of resources, including a digital resource bank and access t","cbCaiqx5sw3HrrL1","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqx5sw3HrrL1","pdf",767425,34,"English","# Introduction\n## Why choose AQA for A-level English Language and Literature\n## Support and resources to help you teach\n# Specification at a glance\n# Subject content\n## Telling stories\n## Exploring conflict\n## Making connections\n# Scheme of assessment\n## Aims\n## Assessment objectives\n## Assessment weightings\n## Non-exam assessment marking criteria\n# Non-exam assessment administration\n## Supervising and authenticating\n## Avoiding malpractice\n## Teacher standardisation\n## Internal standardisation\n## Annotation\n## Submitting marks\n## Factors affecting individual students\n## Keeping students' work\n## Moderation\n## After moderation\n# General administration\n## Entries and codes\n## Overlaps with other qualifications\n## Awarding grades and reporting results\n## Re-sits and shelf life\n## Previous learning and prerequisites\n## Access to assessment: diversity and inclusion\n## Working with AQA for the first time\n## Private candidates","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of integrating language and literature in this A-level specification?\",\"answer\":\"The specification is designed to help students see how linguistic and literary methods are related, and to explore these links through their work with spoken, written, and multi-modal texts.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the specification support independent learning and independent research skills?\",\"answer\":\"It includes a non-exam assessment component that reinforces the integrated course design while allowing students to pursue areas of personal interest and build independent learning skills such as critical reading and evaluation.\"},{\"question\":\"What administrative steps are required for non-exam assessment, according to the specification?\",\"answer\":\"Non-exam assessment administration covers supervising and authenticating work, avoiding malpractice, teacher and internal standardisation, annotation, submitting marks, moderation, and actions after moderation.\"}]","A-LEVEL ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE (7707) - Specification - Version 1.4 | PDF",1792467438,86]
