The monkey lived in a tree, while the turtle lived on the edge of the river.  \nMr. Tani’s garden expanded across the other side. There one could find ripe vegetables and fresh fruits. The monkey wanted to enjoy these fruits, but he could not cross the river.  \nWhile the monkey was thinking of how he could get there, his friend asked,“What are you thinking about, friend?”  \n“I am thinking of that lovely place where it is so easy to find food,” answered the monkey.  \n“Really? Where is that?” asked the turtle.  \n“Over there,” the turtle pointed to Mr. Tani’s garden.“But I can’t swim. Would you like to carry me across?”  \n“Okay, get on my back and we will go right now,”answered the turtle.  \nThe monkey quickly sat on the back of the turtle and they crossed the river. Arriving on the other side, the monkey said to the turtle,“Stand guard so that if Mr. Tani comes we can escape quickly. Later I will bring some fruit for you.”  \nThe turtle agreed and the monkey quickly climbed the tree. But the monkey was naughty and greedy and forgot the turtle was down there watching. Heate the fruit all by himself until he was full.
