He promptly has her executed.  \nRather than deal with his grief and bitterness by talking to someone, Shahryar decides to take out his anger on innocent women. Having made the sweeping and particularly unfair assessment that all women will be unfaithful, he proceeds to marry again, only to have his new wife executed the morning after the wedding.  \nThe revolving door of wives continues until his Vizier, who had been given the role of wingman, can no longer find any eligible women in the kingdom. His daughter, Scheherazade, offers to be the next wife. The Vizier is hesitant, but finally agrees.  \nTheir wedding night comes, and Scheherazade begins to tell the king a story, but she leaves him on a cliffhanger. The king, desperate to know how the story ends, decides to postpone her execution. The following night Scheherazade finishes the story then starts another one.
