Caris is haunted by the meaning of entering the forest, while her travel companion Evan treats the journey as freedom, stopping to touch and smell everything with unsettling cheer. The narrative sets a tense war-tinged world and signals disturbing themes ahead, delivered through Caris’s anxious, resentful inner voice.","A DESTINY WROUGHT IN \nWOE \nFate ’s Design \nBook 1 \nBy R . But instead of amurky grey that reflected my inner turmoil, the sky was a vibrant pinkishyellow as the sun beat down against my nape, taunting me with a heat I hadn’t felt in years. \nThe warm breeze should have been a comforting embrace as it soothed my sweat-soaked skin, but the tang of pine brought a sharp clarity to our journey that had me nibbling my lip in worry. The forest loomed ahead, beckoning us forward in whispers of playful wind and visions of sunspeckled flowers . \nBut I knew what stepping into that vegetation would mean . \nThe death of my future and everything I’d ever wanted to be. \nDread summoned an ache into my throat as the reality of that statement gnawed at the edges of my mind. The amount of effort it took to force my leaden feet forward probably could’ve powered ten healing sessions. \nI hate it here . \nThe forest we were walking in was less of a forest and more of an overgrowth of foliage that took over the land—a jungle really. I hated it. The towering trees were giants in a medley of vibrant greens and lush silvers, evoking an ethereal air that quickly lost its appeal as we trekked the bumpy pathway-that-wasn’t-really-a-pathway towards what I hoped was our destination. Not even the sight of sparkling pearlescent frogs hiding along the canopy could dull the angry throbbing of my feet, aches that screamed at me with every miserable step towards my death. \nThe thrumming heat in my cheeks was a sign that my face was beet-red with exertion, never mind the blazing sun we’d walked under all","cbCaifwcApz5r7FP","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaifwcApz5r7FP","pdf",5210202,275,"English","en",105,"# Contents\n## Chapter One\n## Chapter Two\n## Chapter Three\n## Chapter Four\n## Chapter Five\n## Chapter Six\n## Chapter Seven\n## Chapter Eight\n## Chapter Nine\n## Chapter Ten\n## Chapter Eleven\n## Chapter Twelve\n## Chapter Thirteen\n## Chapter Fourteen\n## Chapter Fifteen\n## Chapter Sixteen\n## Chapter Seventeen\n## Chapter Eighteen\n## Chapter Nineteen\n## Chapter Twenty\n## Chapter Twenty-One\n## Chapter Twenty-Two\n## Chapter Twenty-Three\n## Chapter Twenty-Four\n## Chapter Twenty-Five\n## Chapter Twenty-Six\n## Thank you so much for taking the time to read ADWIW\n## Acknowledgements\n## About the Author","[{\"question\":\"What kind of setting does the story introduce before the chapters begin?\",\"answer\":\"The disclaimer places the story in a country under attack from unknown forces, including war elements that may not suit all readers.\"},{\"question\":\"Where does Chapter One start and who is the main focus?\",\"answer\":\"Chapter One opens with Caris during a grueling trek through a dense, humid jungle, emphasizing her dread and physical exhaustion.\"},{\"question\":\"How does Evan’s behavior contrast with Caris’s mindset during the journey?\",\"answer\":\"Evan treats the trek like freedom, repeatedly stopping to touch or smell things barefoot, while Caris views the forest entry as the loss of her future and everything she wanted.\"}]","A Destiny Wrought in Woe -
