A delicate balance of bright lemon zest, rich espresso, and velvety steamed milk, topped with a fluffy swirl of whipped cream and a dusting of powdered sugar. It was sunshine in a mug—a taste of spring fever, with adash of sugar-kissed magic.  \nWhile I was perfecting our new springtime coffee drink, Hazel was in the kitchen concocting a new sweet treat to pair with it. Then she suddenly lit up, like a thought had just hit her.“Oh! Also, look what Leland got me!”  \nShe fished a pair of sleek black earpieces from her apron pocket, holding them up like she’d just pulled a rabbit out of a hat.“He just got back from some big tech convention in Vegas. High-tech, hands-free comms.”  \nI arched a brow.“That Leland. Ever the charmer.”  \nHazel, sidestepping my sarcasm, beamed. “I know, right?! But imagine how useful these would be in the cafe. You in the front, me in the kitchen—instant communication. No more shouting when we run out of oat milk.”  \n“You already text me from ten feet away.”  \nHazel huffed.“Okay, but think bigger. What if we need these while investigating?
