The formation of these objects is a mystery; they likely began with star-forming gas, similar to normal galaxies, but lost it through mechanisms such as being blown away by gas within the Coma Cluster or gravitational stripping by other galaxies. Further research on these ultradiffuse galaxies is expected to provide clarity on their formation and potentially shed light on the fundamental nature of dark matter.
