These dates will be offered only if Swiss regulations and TASIS policies allow. Testing recommendations have been updated due to university application requirements impacted by COVID-19, so please review the FAQ section at the end of this document carefully before registering for an SAT or ACT exam. \nFor students in Grades 9-11, it has traditionally been the recommendation that all students must take an ACTor SAT, but given changes to university application requirements, this is no longer the case for the current Class of 2021. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many colleges/universities have modified testing requirements. It is essential that students confirm the requirements (or lack thereof) for each school. \nAdditionally, international students ( non-US passport holders) applying to US colleges may be required to submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing Systems), or Duolingo scores if English is not the primary language. Students from non-EEA countries planning to study in the United Kingdom will need to submit a qualifying IELTS score to receive a student visa. \nThe following provides a suggested plan in order to take advantage of all the standardized testing options available at TASIS to complete the college application process. \n12th Grade Students \nFor Grade 12 students, most universities in the US will NOT be requiring an SAT or ACT exam for \nadmission. We strongly recommend students consider not taking the exams, unless they have previous evidence from a PSAT or practice test that they will score very well. \n2020-21 Academic Year \n1. If you have confirmed that you must take an SAT and wish to take the September 26 administration, please make sure to register here before Friday, August 21, on the CollegeBoard website. This test will be a public administration, so space is very limited. \n2. If you have confirmed that you must take an ACT, registration for the September exam closes this Friday, Aug. 21, so please register here before that time. The test center number is 867780. This test administration is for TASIS students only, but space is limited. \n3. Enroll in or repeat the Fall SAT/ACT Prep Course (details below) . \n4. Take the September and/or October ACT test depending on the college application deadlines and requirements. \n5. Take the September, October, and, possibly, December SAT tests, depending on the college application deadlines and requirements. \n6. EAL students or students for whom English is not the primary language: take the TOEFL, Duolingo, or iELTS English placement test. \nMake sure you register early for any test you’re planning to take as the registration deadlines are set at least a month prior to the test date. You are responsible for your registration. \nACT + Writing \nUnless conditions warrant a change, TASIS will offer the ACT plus writing test on the following dates: \nSaturday, September 12, 2020 (Registration deadline – August 21) \nSaturday, October 10, 2020 (Family Weekend) \n~~Saturday~~,~~ December 12~~,~~ 2020~~ (International administration cancelled by ACT) \n~~Saturday~~,~~ February 6~~,~~ 2021~~ (International administration cancelled by ACT) \nSaturday, April 17, 2021 \nThe ACT® test assesses high school students’ general educational development and preparation for college-level work with four multiple-choice tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science. The writing portion of the test measures skill in planning and writing a short essay. \nStudents should always include the writing section when registering. The test is scored on a 1-36 scale. The ACT is curriculum-based and is neither an aptitude nor an IQ test. Instead, the questions on the ACT are directly related to what students have learned in their hi","cbCaiqcunb1IOUv7","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqcunb1IOUv7","pdf",179918,"English","# 12th Grade Students\n## Test date uncertainty and registration reminders\n## SAT and ACT recommendations for admission\n# 2020-21 Academic Year Plan\n## SAT administrations (with optional essay and subject tests)\n## ACT + Writing administrations\n## EAL/English proficiency testing options\n## ACT test format and scoring\n## SAT format and scoring","[{\"question\":\"Why might TASIS test dates change in 2020-2021?\",\"answer\":\"Ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic may lead to changes in test dates.
