Details the KSA schedule and KSA scheduling procedures, including initial in-person testing order, makeup timing, allowable multiple-content administration, and break rules. Covers extended-time scheduling criteria, honor code/security expectations, electronics and social media reminders, and the QSCS survey administration and time estimate.","2025 Kentucky Summative Assessment \nModel Laboratory School \nRebecca Petrey, Building Assessment Coordinator \nWho Does and Doesn't Take the KSA? \nRequired to Test \n• Students in grades 3-8, 10 and 11, including those with disabilities \n• In-person and students enrolled in virtual programs (unless medically exempt) \n• Foreign exchange students \n• Students who are retained or take supplemental year \n• Students who skip a grade will test at new tested grade level \n• Students who move within the state during the testing window \n• Students with a minor medical emergency \n• State Agency Children \n• First year EL students are required to attempt mathematics and science (four MC or one ER) \n• Second year EL students and later participate in all content areas \nWho Does and Doesn't Take the KSA? (continued) \nNot Required to Test \n• Students in Alternate Assessment \n• Students enrolled at Job Corp centers \n• Students with approved medical nonparticipation requests \n• Students expelled without services \nKSA Schedule \n[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eZdZM6](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eZdZM6)[ ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eZdZM6)[eLTwdkx5Sh_vtE_cA83CJkSLcCueZxFiutxDA/edit?us](eLTwdkx5Sh_vtE_cA83CJkSLcCueZxFiutxDA/edit?us)[p=sharing](p=sharing) \nKSA Scheduling \n• Regular and makeup sessions may be completed within the last 14 days of instruction. \n• Initial in-person testing should be completed in content order: QSCS survey, reading, mathematics, science, social studies, editing and mechanics, and on-demand writing. \n• Multiple contents may be administered on the same day. \n• Follow requirements in testing regulations. \n• Follow testing policies in the guidance documents and test administration manual. \n• Breaks are permitted for content tests that have two parts. The test administrator scripts will give specific directions for providing breaks. \nKSA Extended Time Scheduling \n• Extended time is only allowed for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans or Program Service Plans (PSP) specifying extended time.– Extended time students CAN test in general education classroom. \n• Make arrangements for extended time in a manner that allows other students to go back to instructional activities. (Library) \n• Students showing continued progress are allowed to work on the KSA past the recommended time. Record this occurrence as needed at the school. \nKSA Student Honor Code \n• Upon logging in to a content test, the student will be asked to accept the honor code prior to entering the seal code. \n• The student will not be able to test without accepting the honor code. \n• This process is one of the critical pieces of test security used to monitor appropriate administration of the KSA assessment. \n• Students should be reminded of the importance of doing their own work and always putting forth their best effort. \nUse of Electronics and Social Media Reminders \n• Review with students the Administration Code rules around use of electronic devices. Schools should have policies in place regarding use of cell phones during test administration. \n• Posting of secure materials to any social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) is not allowed and may lead to disciplinary issues. \n• Inappropriate use of electrics and social media are the most common reported testing allegations. \nQuality of School Climate and Safety (QSCS) Survey \n• The QSCS online student survey covers items related to school climate and school safety. (1st Period Classes – Go Over with Your Classes!) \n• Survey should be administered at every tested grade prior to the first content test (reading; science at grade 11) . \n• Administration time – will take approximately 20 minutes. \n• No separate roster for the QSCS Survey; it is included as part of the KSA and Alternate Kentucky Summative Assessment (AKSA) rosters. \nReading \nAssessed in Grades 3-8, and 10 \n10 Forms \nTwo Sessions/ \nTwo","cbCaieZrRJUm3yZS","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieZrRJUm3yZS","pdf",891960,28,"English","en",105,"# Who Does and Doesn't Take the KSA?\n## Required to Test\n## Not Required to Test\n# KSA Schedule\n## KSA Scheduling\n## KSA Extended Time Scheduling\n# KSA Student Honor Code\n# Use of Electronics and Social Media Reminders\n# Quality of School Climate and Safety (QSCS) Survey\n## QSCS online student survey","[{\"question\":\"Which students are required to take the KSA in 2025?\",\"answer\":\"Students in grades 3-8, 10 and 11 are required, including students with disabilities, students in in-person or virtual programs (unless medically exempt), foreign exchange students, and certain students who are retained, supplemental, or move within the state during the testing window.\"},{\"question\":\"What students are not required to test?\",\"answer\":\"Students in Alternate Assessment, students enrolled at Job Corps centers, students with approved medical nonparticipation requests, and students expelled without services are not required to test.\"},{\"question\":\"How should extended time for the KSA be scheduled?\",\"answer\":\"Extended time is allowed only for students whose IEPs, 504 Plans, or PSPs specify extended time.
