They have the option of meeting with their counselor to review their course selections on the assigned meeting dates. \n6) Once the parent pays the registration fee, sets up a FACTS agreement, completes the student information form, and, if applicable, makes any necessary AP exam fee payments, the counselor finalizes the course request from the student. \nIt is the student’s responsibility to be aware of his / her credit status and to select an appropriate course sequence leading to graduation. The minimum requirements for high school graduation do not fulfill the minimum requirements for admission to all colleges. Students who receive an F at the end ofa semester are required to remediate in spring and / or summer school. Students who receive a D are also strongly advised toremediate the course. \nGraduation Requirements \nIn addition to the credits listed below, students are required to maintain a minimum 2.0 Career Grade Point Average. \nTheology: 4 credits \nEnglish: 4 credits \nMathematics: 4 credits \n(Algebra I, Geometry, & Algebra II are required for all students.) \nScience: 3 credits \n(Biology is required for all students; two science courses must have lab components; and either Chemistry or Physics is strongly recommended.) \nSocial Studies: 3 credits \n(World History, U.S. History, and Government and Economics are required for all students.) \nWorld Languages: 2 credits \n(Courses must be in the same language.) Students then have a one-week period to check the course list and meet with their counselor to determine if any schedule changes are needed. \n⮚ Requests for course changes are not accepted once the master schedule has been created. \n⮚ In those rare instances in which a student is granted a class change after the deadline, there will be a fee of $100 to be collected after the appropriate schedule change form has been completed by the guidance counselor. \n⮚ In some cases, requests for schedule changes cannot be granted due to conflicts with other courses. \nCriteria for Placement in Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors Courses \nAdvanced Placement Courses \nTo be eligible for enrollment in an Advanced Placement (AP) course, the following criteria must be met: \n⮚ Students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5. \n⮚ Students enrolled in an AP course must earn a semester grade no lower than a B (80 or higher) in that course to remain in that department’s AP-level track in the following year. \n⮚ Students in an honors-level course must earn a semester grade no lower than an A (90 or above) to move up to that department’s AP-level course in the following year. \nAP course","cbCaiijdIB5QdV27","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiijdIB5QdV27","pdf",538525,49,"English","# Registration Procedure for Students Currently Enrolled at Archbishop McCarthy\n# Graduation Requirements\n# Course Schedule Changes\n# Criteria for Placement in Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors Courses\n## Advanced Placement Courses\n## Honors Courses\n## College Dual Enrollment Classes\n# Course Credit Policies\n# Grade Point Average (GPA)","[{\"question\":\"How do students plan courses for the 2025-2026 school year?\",\"answer\":\"Students use the guide or course descriptions on Plus Portals to plan courses, complete the four-year planning sheet at the correct grade level with prerequisites, submit their Plus Portals course selection, and may review selections with their counselor on assigned meeting dates.\"},{\"question\":\"What are the minimum requirements to graduate?\",\"answer\":\"Students must maintain at least a 2.0 Career Grade Point Average and earn the listed credits across required subjects, including specific credit counts for Theology, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages, along with other graduation-required categories.\"},{\"question\":\"What criteria are required for enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) courses?\",\"answer\":\"Students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5.
