For more \nthan 50 years, the SSAT has been used to help students and schools make critical decisions about applying and admission. Sections of the SSAT measure verbal and mathematical ability and reading comprehension. The test also includes an unscored, timed writing sample which is sent to schools with the student’s score report to supplement a student’s application for admission. \nEach student takes the SSAT under standardized testing conditions and is given the same amount of time and instruction (exceptions are made for those who qualify for testing accommodations) . The Enrollment Management Association uses an extensive inventory of equated test items to ensure that a student can sit for a test at any administration during an academic year and take a unique version. This guide contains information for two levels of the test: \nthe Middle Level SSAT, designed for students in grades 5-7, and the Upper Level SSAT, designed for students in grades 8-11. Information for the Elementary Level SSAT for students in grades 3 and 4 is provided in a separate guide. \nThe Enrollment Management Association, a nonprofit educational corporation, develops and administers the SSAT. \n2 \n● ● ● ● ● ● \nContents \nIntroduction ...............................................................................4-7 \nPurpose of the Test.........................................................................................4 \nTest Development Process ...........................................................................4 \nTest Specifications....................................................................................... 4-5 \nVerbal Section .................................................................................................. 5 \nQuantitative Section....................................................................................... 6 \nReading Comprehension Section ................................................................7 \nWriting Section ............................................................................................... 7 \nAdministration of the SSAT .......................................................8 \nTest Security..................................................................................................... 8 \nUniform Conditions .......................................................................................8 \nTesting Accommodations ..............................................................................8 \nReporting SSAT Scores ..........................................................8-12 \nScore Reports.................................................................................................. 8 \nSchool Score Report...................................................................................... 9 \nSSAT Writing Sample............................................................................. 10-11 \nFamily Score Report.................................................................................... 12 \nInterpreting SSAT Scores ................................................... 13-16 \nRaw Scores .................................................................................................... 13 \nScaled Scores ................................................................................................ 13 \nRange of Scaled Scores ............................................................................... 13 \nNorms and Percentiles ............................................................................... 14 \nMean Scores .....","cbCaicpgBww7UhEn","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicpgBww7UhEn","pdf",2890797,"English","# Introduction\n## Purpose of the Test\n## Test Development Process\n## Test Specifications\n## Verbal Section\n## Quantitative Section\n## Reading Comprehension Section\n## Writing Section\n# Administration of the SSAT\n## Test Security\n## Uniform Conditions\n## Testing Accommodations\n## Reporting SSAT Scores\n## Interpreting SSAT Scores\n## Raw Scores\n## Scaled Scores\n## Range of Scaled Scores\n## Norms and Percentiles\n## Mean Scores\n## Omissions and Questions Not Reached\n## School-Specific Context Data\n## SSAT Subject Areas\n## Statistical Terms and the SSAT\n## Score Equating\n## Reliability of Test Scores\n## Standard Error of Measurement – SEM\n## Standard Error of Difference – SED\n## True Score\n## Validity\n## Test Speededness\n## School-Specific SSAT Scores\n# Appendices","[{\"question\":\"What sections make up the Middle and Upper Level SSAT?\",\"answer\":\"The SSAT includes verbal, quantitative, reading comprehension, and a writing section.
