I know that many families are trying to shop every two weeks and are looking for ways to make feeding our families at home easier. I hope this helps to simplify your meal planning, shopping, and cooking—and sets you up to enjoy meals with your kids! \nEach week of the plan includes: \n Recipes for 6 easy family dinners. (I assume you can add in leftovers, takeout, or another easy family dinner on the 7th night.) \n Two dinners that make enough to become a second meal to reduce the overall amount of cooking. \n Two nutritious breakfast recipes each week. (I assume you can add in leftovers or simple options like toast, cereal, and freezer waffles on the other days.) \n Two homemade, but super easy, lunch recipes. \n Ideas for easy lunches to fill in the rest of the week. \n Two homemade snack recipes that last for days so you can serve them throughout the week—or freeze them for later. \n A weekly grocery list, divided up by sections of the grocery store. \nThis system really works however you need it to. You may or may not need or want ideas for every meal of the day, or maybe you do. You can use the 2 week meal plan exactly as written, with the grocery lists–which works great since each week you'll be putting extras from at least one meal into the freezer to repurpose the following week. This allows you to cook less but still enjoy homemade meals. Or maybe you want to start planning breakfast and lunch. Or just dinner. You can totally do that and ignore the rest—or even start there and come back for more later. Or maybe you want to use the blank template at the back and make your own plan. It's really up to you. \nI know that there's no way for me to make a 100% perfect meal plan for everyone, but I do hope that this helps. And I'm always here to answer any questions that come up about specific recipes or feeding your kids. Email me at any time at yummytoddlerfood@gmail.com and I'll do my best to help! \nEnjoy! \nAmy \nP.S. You will need to add in snacks, easy sides, extra breakfast items, and anything else your family likes to eat throughout the week, so do keep that in mind when reviewing the grocery lists. \nCopyright Palanjian Media 2020. Here 's my general approach, which informs everything to the ingredients I use, the way I serve meals, and the way I structure my meal plans. \nBudget-Conscious \nWhile food budgets vary, I know that most families are trying to reduce theirs. I use a lot of basic staples such as grains, beans, and fresh veggies to make your dollars work hard at the store. Meat and fish are used more sparingly. You can always add in more to meet your own preferences if you'd like. \nRealistic Methods \nI know we're often faced with cooking when kids want our attention and/or demand to be held. To help, I streamlined the amount of chopping and prep work where I could. I try to use up ingredients each week to help reduce waste. And the meal plan starts out each Monday with a Slow Cooker recipe (that can also be made in the Instant Pot!) to ensure you get your week off to a great start. \nFlexible Flavorings, Toppings, and Sides \nMy goal is always to make one meal for the entire family simply because it's SO much easier. To help ensure the meals are foods that kids and adults will both like, you'll see a lot of \"optional\" toppings that you can use to customize your own plate. This is an easy and effective way to serve simple family meals everyone is happy to eat. \nStructure with Room to Adjust \nSome weeks go more smoothly than others and sometimes you'll wind up with more leftovers or just really not feel any desire to cook.
