Developed by a reading consultant with more than 20 years of classroom and literacy experience, this research-based program is easy to implement, simple to differentiate, and adaptable to any instructional model. The activities are straightforward and engaging.  \nMost importantly, they address today’s college and career readiness standards.  \nThis book boosts students’ spelling, vocabulary, and decoding skills by familiarizing them with common patterns in a logical, sequential format. Each five-day unit explores a new concept or letter pattern.  \nGoals of the Series  \nThe first goal of the series is to build students’ familiarity with common spelling patterns and rules. The scope and sequence has been designed using a developmental approach, taking into account students’ predictive stages of spelling development. Units progress from basic letter sounds to challenging patterns and spiral from one year to the next.  \nA second goal is to strengthen decoding skills. When students spend a week or more immersed in a particular phonetic pattern, they start to notice and apply the pattern to their daily reading.
