Then Moses’s sister Miriam died, and they buried her there.  \nNumbers 20:1  \nThere was no water there for the people to drink. So the people rebelled against Moses and Aaron.  \nNumbers 20:2  \nThey blamed Moses and said,“Why did you bring us and our animals to this wilderness to die? Why did you make us leave Egypt and bring us to this terrible place?\"  \nNumbers 20:3-5  \n“This land has no grain or fruit to eat and no water to drink!”  \nNumbers 20:5  \nMoses and Aaron turned away from the people and went to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. They fell face down on the ground to plead with the Lord. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to them.  \nNumbers 20:6  \nThe Lord said to Moses,“Take Aaron’s staff from the Sacred Tent. This staff was placed there to remind people not to rebel by complaining against me. \"  \nNumbers 17:10; 20:7-8  \n“You and Aaron must gather all the people near that rock. Speak to the rock in front of everyone. It will pour out water so the people and their animals can drink.”  \nNumbers 20:8  \nSo Moses took the staff just as the Lord commanded.
