So the Lord sent plagues to demonstrate his power to Pharaoh and the Egyptians.  \nFirst, all the water in Egypt became blood when Aaron stretched his staff over the Nile River, asthe Lord had commanded him to do. The fish in the river died. The smell was so bad that the Egyptians could not drink the water.  \nThen the Lord commanded Moses to tell Aaron to raise his staff over the rivers of Egypt and make frogs come up onto the land. And frogs came out of the water and covered the land!  \nExodus 8:5-6  \nAfter that, Aaron struck the ground with his staff as the Lord commanded, and all the dust on the ground in Egypt became gnats. The gnats covered the people and animals.  \nExodus 8:17  \nBut as the Lord had said, Pharaoh’s heart was hard.
